How long have you been doing what you do and how did you get to be the Marketing and Technology Expert?
To answer this question, it’s probably best that I share with you the story that brought me to where I am today, partnering with people like you on exactly what to do to make sure their marketing technology gets them new leads and new clients.
That defining moment in my life happened after a 25+ year career spent in marketing professional services (accountants, attorneys, real estate developers and etc). After about 6 months into a high level position which should have been the highpoint of my career (position-wise and income-wise), I found myself incredibly boxed in and stressed, massively unhappy and suffering physically, mentally and emotionally.
My employer must have sensed the same, because after 9 months, they decided someone else would be better in that position and I was let loose. I wasn’t in the least surprised. And the latent seed that had always been within me – to build my own marketing company which did things in a different way – began to sprout in earnest.
At that very moment, I made a commitment to immerse myself in absolutely everything that had to do with using technology as a marketing tool. I knew the “old school” marketing piece inside out. What I wanted to know was “can the tools and techniques used by ‘internet marketers’ be effective for brick and mortar, real life businesses?” I read every book on marketing and technology I could get my hands on. I took every course that was available. I essentially decided to become an expert on how to implement technology for marketing results in the real world.
And I found that I absolutely loved it!
During this process, I had an epiphany! There are a lot of entrepreneurs out there who have spent thousands of dollars on a fancy website that lists their products or services (I call it a brochure website), and it’s not doing a darn thing for them. And they’re sick about it!
Their site is not compelling. It’s not attracting new business. It’s not starting a relationship between the future client and the entrepreneur. But you know what? It sure is pretty!
After delving deeper I realized that there is a way to create both a pretty site and a results focused site. Combine such a site with other online and offline tools like audio and video, online workshops, e-newsletters, rich content, social media, shopping carts, affiliate programs, standard and online PR, networking and advertising and businesses will have an utterly dynamic and powerfully effective Integrated Marketing™ presence online and off.
I have since made a commitment to dedicate the rest of my professional life to helping other self-employed, sole practitioners, use marketing technology tools that work through my services and products.
Since then, I’ve worked with many private clients, spoken in front of countless groups, and have created The Integrated Marketing Starter System™; a series of 6 important practice-building steps every entrepreneur needs to use as the starting point for their online presence.
Who are your clients exactly??
I work with people just like you who are entrepreneurs and owners of privately held businesses who are really good at what they do. However, they’ve never been taught exactly how to structure a website (much less all their other online programs like social media, e-zines, product sales, etc) , so that these tools put money in their pocket!
Many of them have spent thousands of dollars with a web designer who doesn’t really understand how marketing should be the driving focus of all technology endeavors, and they now have a website that probably looks great . . . but doesn’t create one shred of tangible results for them.
Every time a new client comes to me having wasted these thousands of dollars, I can literally feel the grip in my chest of a big “ouch!” I want to tell them: It doesn’t have to be this way!

What happens if you haven’t yet worked with people in my field??
I have worked with clients in a wide variety of industries. Most likely I have worked with people in your field. Yet, I have to share with you that if I haven’t, you’re not at a disadvantage, quite to the contrary. Here’s why: people in your field are probably ALL doing the same things with their websites and their online presence to bring in new business. This creates a lot of repetition. What my current and former clients have found exceedingly helpful is that I bring an extremely fresh perspective to their Integrated Marketing™ process and give them resources they’d never heard of in their field. Because of this, they stand out in an overcrowded marketplace and are the ones who start getting tangible results from their online presence.
How are you different from other “web designers” or “marketing consultants”??
My interest in making your website pretty and flashy is almost nil! I’m primarily interested in getting you a website that “ca-chings!“ We’ll make it pretty later.
Ok – I’m exaggerating a little. Yes your site will look great. Yes it will have a pleasing layout. Yes you’ll be proud to have family and friends see it. But overall, first and foremost, above all other considerations, our focus will be on having it bring you results.
In fact, if you want me to create a “brochure website” for you, I am not interested. Go waste your money elsewhere.
During the course of our working together, you may hear me recommend some action steps that make you a little uncomfortable. You may feel that internal thought arising in you of “it’s just not done that way“ or “we can’t do that”.
Because my focus is on both the marketing and the technology, (with marketing in the driver’s seat), what you get with me is no-nonsense, undiluted expertise on what works for independent businesses. I’ve simply become an expert at this stuff and that’s why my clients, groups and customers get great results (and I throw in a healthy dose of training, “ah-ha moments” and encouragement along the way, which ALWAYS helps!).
What type of personality do you work best with and what is expected of me??
This Integrated Marketing™ approach was created for entrepreneurs who are ready and excited to do things that no one else in their industry is doing, and reaping the results. They are comfortable going outside the box and are open to new and fresh ideas that may even scare them a bit at the beginning.
Being someone who doesn’t fit the corporate mold myself, I’m known to work best with other entrepreneurs who are willing to learn and implement new and exciting ways of crafting technology marketing tools that work!
For what type of professional is this program NOT going to work??
Please know I’m very selective in who I work with and I cherry-pick my clients, choosing to (gently) turn away those who aren’t suited for my programs and won’t get the results they seek. (It wouldn’t be fair to them.)
The Integrated Marketing™ program is NOT for those who insist on doing things “the way they’ve always been done“, or following their industry crowd. It’s been my experience that people who are not ready nor eager, to learn new innovative ways of marketing, do not trust the recommendations I give them and water down the process (probably because they spend so much time worrying about not fitting in or being “ridiculed” by others.)
If you fall within this category, it’s absolutely OK. We’ve all been in this category at one time or another. Do yourself (3) favors:
Start observing and keeping track of the results from your current website and all other online media efforts. Get very tangible with it. How many website hits turn into money in your pocket or viable prospective clients that are now in your pipeline? How many people hit your website and – poof! – are gone within 30 seconds never to be heard from again? How many people are clicking on the links within your e-zine? Which links are most popular? Which links aren’t so popular?
This will give you a factual picture of the results of your online presence and clarity concerning what your current processes are doing for you.

Another type of person I won’t work with (without exception) is the whiner or the chronic skeptic, as well as individuals who consistently make excuses for not getting their assignments done or challenging every aspect of the program. If you are one of these people, I gently and respectfully ask that you not call and I hope you understand why. We’ll probably just not work well together and I wouldn’t want you to waste your time or money. Is that fair?

We walk you through the process of how and why to submit your articles to article distribution sites. Checklists are included so that you can format your articles for the distribution sites’ criteria and eliminate articles being rejected due to incorrect formatting. Most importantly, we help you structure your “author resource box” so that your target market is compelled to visit your site, opt-in for your irresistible information and thus begin a relationship with you.
Set up a system to analyze your results
We walk you through the steps of how to install an analytics tool on the landing page and we show you how to generate statistics from your online newsletter. Then we show you exactly which numbers are important to you and how to tweak them each and every month so that they only get better and better.
Implement some basic keyword analysis
Select the keywords that you want to own. Determine which keywords in your area of expertise are actually used by surfers in searches. Learn how to use those keywords in your articles and on your website.
